The Last Ice Cream

So many times when we went out to eat, the boys got cookies and/or ice cream from the waitstaff.  Which is great and all, but not the usual for our diet.  Here is Jack enjoying the last ice cream of our trip at a little cafe in Lake Charles.

Our Last Morning on Vacation

This is what greets me every morning.  Just wanted to capture all the hair.

Jack loves his oatmeal, but it's pretty messy.

Rooftop Pool at the Westin in New Orleans

Great view of the French Quarter.  I had to keep Jack from jumping onto the water.  He thought it was a big bathtub.

Matthew Boulevard

I was super-excited.  Matthew, not so much...  After all, the chances of finding a street with my name are pretty slim.

Walking Around Our Little Neighborhood

In Preparation for My Vespa...

Matthew and I rented a couple of scooters.  I was really nervous and we drove around the parking lot for a good 20 minutes before hitting the road.  Even then, I cruised at about 10-15 mph, so there was quite a line of cars behind us.
Stopped at a cookie shop for a snack.  Matt's first slurpee in over a decade.  On our way back, I actually drove the speed limit!

Naval Aviation Museum

After the show, we went to the Naval Aviation Museum.  There was an aircraft carrier playground in the children's area that the boys just loved.  We did not make it past the kids' area to see any of the planes.

In the Cockpit of an F/A-18 Fighter Jet

Sean knew exactly what to do once he sat down.
Daddy barely fit!

Checking Out the Other Airplanes

I have no idea what Sean was looking at.  But it must have been amazing!
Sean and Grandma waited in line to see this helicopter.

The Blue Angels

Got up really early to catch the Blue Angels practicing in Pensacola.
Boy, those jets are loud!
Ahhh, earplugs!
Overall, a very impressive show.

Silly Sean Faces

What's a pirate's favorite letter?  RRrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
For some reason, Sean kept sticking out his tongue for these photos.  And he wanted me to do the same.
Of course, I had to oblige.

Jack the Skipper

Well, he was really the "walker."  And he walked around pretty well considering the motion of the boat.

Captain Sean

Dolphin Cruise

We booked a dolphin cruise on the Southern Star.  Saw quite a few dolphins, but those mammals are really fast.  So the only photo I got of a dolphin is the tip of a dorsal fin in the top photo.  Can you see it?

Snoozefest 2010

On to Destin!  Of course, the whole four hours wasn't like this.  There were lots of snacks, books, and toys.  And I'll be needing to get the SUV detailed again when we get home...

Yay for Beignets!

Of course, we had to have beignets.  We had already been telling Sean and trying to describe the fluffy, deep-fried pillows of dough swimming in powdered sugar.  The boys liked them because they've inherited my love of carbs.

Sweating through the nice walk back to our hotel.

Yummy Pinkberry!

Matthew and I both had heard people raving about Pinkberry and it's all true... it's delicious!

Hellloooooo, Hotel!

The boys had such fun exploring our hotel room.

And that includes playing in the big, fluffy beds.
