Light at the End of the Tunnel

Some good news: Baby "dropped" a day or two ago, which gives me a pronounced waddle & some back pain. But at least it's progress! Also I will be induced on saturday (20th) if he doesn't arrive by then. The finish line is inching closer! Just trying to remind myself to enjoy the relative quiet of a one-child home...

False Alarm

Yesterday, I worked a 12-hour shift, and on my way home I started having contractions about 8-12 minutes apart for a few hours. After a lot of debate, we made our way to the hospital to get everything checked out. I was not dilated so we just stayed a few hours for observation and then went home. Just trying to remain patient...

Bummer!

At my doctor's visit today, I was not dilated so it looks like another week of being pregnant. I found out at last week's appointment that they estimate Baby #2 is in the 83rd percentile for gestational age (according to the ultrasound). BTW, the margin of error is +/- 0.5 pound. Yikes! I guess he has more of Matthew's genes than Sean. I've been having contractions for over a week now, but not close enough to call my doctor or go to the hospital. So we are just waiting... And still trying to decide on a name.

Kisses for Baby Brother

At the behest of our regular readers and friends, I finally got some belly pictures on our blog. For several months now, we've been telling Sean about his Little Brother who is growing in Momma's belly. And Sean gives Little Brother (still no name!) a kiss via my belly button. It's cute.

This pregnancy has been much more exhausting since I'm working and running around after Sean. But all this activity has also kept me in better shape along with my prenatal yoga classes, so hopefully I'll bounce back faster and easier than I did with Sean.

New Baby Pics

So today I had an ultrasound and they estimate that Baby #2 is 6.5 pounds already (at 35 weeks). I was totally shocked and freaking out because Sean weighed about as much when he was born! As you can see, Baby's got some chubby cheeks too. So my ob/gyn expects that I'll be delivering around 37 weeks or so since that's what happened with Sean. So it looks like I've got a couple of weeks left. Gotta get that hospital bag ready pronto!

A Little Brother for Sean

Well, today we found out that baby #2 is doing well and growing healthy. And we are having another boy! Which is actually perfect since we've saved everything that Sean used/wore, so we're ready. Or as ready as we can be, expecting a second child. My placenta was in the front so the 3-D ultrasound photos didn't turn out very well, but I'm working on posting a little video for ya'll.

Working on a name... Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Surprise!

Visited my ob/gyn a few days ago and found out that we are 12 weeks pregnant! Was quite a surprise, since I didn't think I was that far along. My due date is june 26. BTW, if you can't read Sean's shirt, it says, "I'm not lion; I'm going to be a big brother."

37 Weeks

Well, we were a little surprised at last week's ob/gyn visit. I didn't expect to be 1-2 cm and 70-80% effacement. So we got crackin' to get ready in case Sean was going to arrive this week. Got the carseat checked and properly re-installed. Got a bedding set for the crib. Took a breastfeeding class last saturday. (It was very informative and I highly recommend it to any gal considering breastfeeding.) Today's ob/gyn visit was a bit of a let-down. No change in dilation or effacement. But I haven't had any contractions yet either. (As far as I know...)

This pic is from last week's lunch with some of my 3rd year friends and one of our faculty members who is also preggers.

The most surprising thing about pregnancy...

Before I was pregnant, I really hadn't thought much about what it would be like day-to-day. I only thought that my back would hurt from the extra weight, I'd eat alot, and my belly would get bigger. The most surprising and fun part is feeling and watching Baby Sean kick. I took a movie on tuesday night to try to capture it for posterity.

3rd Ultrasound

We had our 3rd ultrasound on 5/2. Baby is healthy and still a boy! (We won't have to wash all our blue stuff with red dye to make everything purple. Whew!) He's pretty squished in there and apparently he has hair too...

There weren't any good 3-D pics because of the position of the baby. But here's a 2-D movie of Sean moving his mouth like he's eating.

BTW: I updated the 3-D ultrasounds from before so if you didn't get to see them, check them out! (Click on "February" to the right...)

Getting ready for baby...

Well, we've finally got all the baby furniture ready. The hardest part was getting it all up to the third floor. (Thanks for your help, Ryan!!!) Here's a pic of Matthew getting the changing table/dresser together. What a handyman!

29 Weeks!

Well, Charisse's belly is getting even larger! We didn't think it was possible. And Baby is kicking and doing somersaults all over the place. We try to talk to him as much as possible too. We'll have another ultrasound in about a month to see exactly how big Baby is and when he is going to make his entrance.

Heeeeere's Baby!

I noticed that people were clicking on the pic above the Baby Countdown, but it sends you somewhere else. So here's the pic for ya!

3-D Ultrasounds are soooo cool!

Here are two 3-D ultrasound movies I didn't get to send to everybody because I didn't want to crash any e-mail accounts.
