Chef Seany

We decided to make mushroom and spinach pizzas this weekend.  Unfortunately, I over-proofed the dough (Jack wasn't feeling well), but we forged ahead anyway.  Sean helped me clean off the mushrooms and he really enjoyed being a "chef."  Once our pizzas were done, he ate a slice before realizing that it had spinach.  With the second slice, he told me that he didn't like spinach and picked it off.  I think he got it from his Arthur book where D.W. is a picky eater.

Checkups for All!

Today both Sean and Jack had their checkups.  Jack is 30 inches tall (75th percentile), weighs 25 pounds (60th percentile), and his head circumference is 18.5 inches (75th percentile).  Sean is 37.5 inches tall (50th percentile) and weighs 34 pounds (75th percentile).  Our pediatrician asked Sean questions to check his development.

"Sean, can you stand on one foot like this?"
"No, I can stand on two feet like this!"
Cuz two feet are better than one, of course.

You Are Beautiful!

This morning, Sean told me, "Momma, you're beeeaaauuutiful like a wild beast!"  Had to pause for a moment and then say thank you.

My, They Learn Quickly, Don't They?

A few weeks ago, Sean started telling me, "Momma, you're pretty and I missed you today.". Last night, the pretty-part got attached to various requests. As in, "Momma, I want some chocolate milk. You're pretty!"

Language Lessons

Daddy:  No, Sean, we don't say "butt."  We say "booty."
Sean:  Butt.
Daddy:  No, Sean, we don't say "butt."  We say "booty."
Sean:  Daddy, I know what you say, but I say "butt."

Had to keep Sean from seeing us laugh at this comment and not undermine the lesson...

Sean Said a Funny Thing...

This evening at dinner, Sean was checking out Matthew's watch. Matt pointed out different parts, "See, this is the second hand."

Sean asked, "Is this the first hand?"

Paging Dr. Sean

I took out my stethoscope and of course Sean had to play with it. He couldn't say stethoscope and instead called it a "telescope." But he had fun listening to his heart, and my heart, and Daddy's heart...

Bananas Are So Ap-peel-ing!

Or as Sean says, "Nana!" He likes to peel them by himself like a big boy.

A Walk to the Park

After Hurricane Ike passed through, we had nice, cool weather. So we decided to enjoy the park. Off to feed the ducks!

The ducks enjoyed our Gorilla Munch, but now it's Sean's turn to snack. Or as Sean says, "Nak!"

We went up the stairs and down the slide at least a dozen times...

Word Up

Here are Grandma and Sean in the toy aisle. Grandma and Grandpa came down for a quick visit since I had a meeting to attend for work. And Sean has been saying some new words!

Yesterday, while I was at work and Matthew and Sean were reading his book on colors, Sean said, "Brown." Matthew was floored! Then this morning, Sean said, "Grandpa," and "Grandma." He hasn't repeated himself yet and I'm just sorry that I missed all the excitement.
