We've been taking the medication for Sean's reflux and it seems to be working. While he still spits up a bit, the volume has drastically decreased. Of course, it could just be that his reflux waxes and wanes, but I feel a little more at ease anyway. I was worried I would have to change my diet (oh no, not my chocolate!)...

Baby GERD Update
Called the pediatrician yesterday and picked up a prescription for Sean's reflux. We'll give it a trial run and see how it works. Not interested in waiting til Sean's four months old to outgrow it.

Baby GERD
Since last friday Sean has been spitting up quite a bit. Looks like we've got a little (well, actually a lot) reflux (baby GERD). I'm trying to feed him smaller meals more frequently and keep him propped up to minimize the messes. I am loathe to take him anywhere now because he spits up all over himself, me , the carseat, the floor in Macy's, etc.
Our pediatrician said that medications can be used if he seems uncomfortable. But the medications only decrease the acid in his stomach which is not the reason he spits up (immature sphincter between his esophagus and stomach). He does cry sometimes but mostly he smiles and laughs after he has spit up. Has anyone had this experience before and if you tried medications, did they work for your baby?
