Sean made a new friend today. Her name is Gianna and she has a blog too! Her mom Allison was one of my preceptors and we were pregnant at the same time. So we finally met up for lunch with hubbies and babies in tow and got to catch up. Hubbies say we need more babies and babies say they want to get down and walk around. Allison took this picture because I forgot my camera, but it was after lunch and Sean was ready for a nap.

Happy Father's Day!
Do you think we're overdoing it with the camo? ;)I was a bad mommy today. Matthew made a wonderful scrambled egg breakfast for all three of us, and I rushed off to work. Suddenly, I realized that I forgot to give Matthew his Father's Day cards. So I called him immediately to apologize and wish him a happy Father's Day. Turns out I woke both Sean and Matthew from their naps. Maybe next year Sean can help me remember...

Exchange Your BPA Bottles!
I read on different blogs earlier this week about how Babies 'R Us is taking back BPA bottles like Avent and Dr. Browns. I didn't find anything official from Babies 'R Us, only word-of-mouth from different blogs. We don't really have very many bottles, but since Sean turned one I rounded them up and didn't known what to do with them. I didn't want to use them for the future babies because of concerns with BPA, and I'm glad I kept them instead of throwing them out.
First I went to the Toys 'R Us near the medical center. They said that since these bottles are not officially recalled, they are not taking them back. Undeterred, I called the Babies 'R Us in Sugar Land and spoke to a manager to get the official story. Yes, they are taking BPA bottles back without a receipt. You can exchange the bottles for a equivalent dollar amount in other bottles. However, if you return more bottles than you buy, you will not receive a store credit or gift card. You just lose that amount.
So today, Sean and I went to return his old bottles. What did we get in exchange? The Adiri Natural Nurser. They look like they're easy to use because there's only three parts and it's all dishwasher safe (top rack, of course). Sean doesn't use bottles anymore, but I think it'll be good for his future siblings. (Whoa. Hold on, there. No, we're not pregnant.) With all this daycare hoopla over milk, I actually bought another kind of bottle too. It's called WeeGo glass baby bottle. Sean just played with it but didn't want to drink anything out of it. Another one to go in the box for future babies...

Still working on the scintillating conversation, so we're not ready for any fancy restaurants yet...

Say No to Whole Milk
No whole milk for a while. Sean will eat foods that have it mixed in, but not drink the milk by itself. He really doesn't like the taste, so we'll try again maybe next month. In my worry-mom mode (which is practically all the time), I was worried that Sean would never take any milk and lack calcium and get rickets (oh, catastrophe!), but I checked out other sources of calcium. Sean eats yogurt daily, and he likes salmon, tofu, and broccoli. Also, he is nursing at least four times a day. So I feel a little better.
As for our daycare transition, Sean is getting used to the other babies and taking longer naps. Also, the teacher said that today he's starting to drink more water. Whew! I guess it will just take some time...

First Day of Daycare
Sean had his first day of daycare today. Yeah, there were a few tears all around, but we survived. Today was a weird mix of freedom and feeling naked at the same time. Sean had trouble sleeping today because of the noises from the other babies, and he drank very little water. The teachers think he's having trouble sleeping because he doesn't have any milk, so tomorrow I'm going to send him off with both whole milk and breastmilk. But I think he's really holding out for Mommy. We've just been praying for this to be an easy transition for Sean.

Yum-Yum Dim Sum

You know he's my baby because Sean loves to eat! We have introduced whole milk in his sippy cups, but he doesn't like the taste of it. Sometimes he avoids drinking from the sippy cups with water too; we think it's because he's avoiding the milk. I have also started putting it in different foods to get him gradually used to the flavor, but I'm not sure what else to do. Any suggestions?

Adventures at The Children's Museum
Looking at these pictures now, I just realized that Sean was trying to peel the bananas!
