To the Park!

The weather has been really nice, so we decided to go to the park. The toddler-sized playground in West U. is being renovated, so we went to another park nearby. Sean loves to run around outside, plus we're happy when it makes him tired and helps him sleep all night.

Returning Home

Well, we're back in Houston now. We drove back late last night so I could go to work today. As we drove in, we could see which neighborhoods had power and which ones didn't. Most of the gas stations we passed were closed since they had run out of gas. We are one of the lucky few who have both power and water, although the news says we're supposed to boil the water just to be safe. Sean's school doesn't have either, so we'll be switching days to stay with him.

This morning on my way to work, I saw the billboards and signs were broken or blown away. Lots of trees and branches littered the streets and sidewalks. All the grocery stores have shortened their hours because of the curfew and most of their refrigerators and freezers are empty. On the bright side, there's no traffic and the weather is really nice, sunny and cool.

Bananas Are So Ap-peel-ing!

Or as Sean says, "Nana!" He likes to peel them by himself like a big boy.

Corn on the Cob is Such a Fun Food!

Sean insisted on having his own corn like everyone else.

Then he insisted on having Daddy's corn too.

Part of fatherhood (and motherhood) is learning that nothing is your own anymore. (Or is that the first lesson for a new husband?)

A Walk to the Park

After Hurricane Ike passed through, we had nice, cool weather. So we decided to enjoy the park. Off to feed the ducks!

The ducks enjoyed our Gorilla Munch, but now it's Sean's turn to snack. Or as Sean says, "Nak!"

We went up the stairs and down the slide at least a dozen times...

The Smaller Toy Version is More Fun

Grandma has a doll crib at her house. Sean wants to play with it. Can you see the mischief?

He tries to climb into the doll crib. He is never this excited to get into his own crib.

(Please don't break. Please don't break. Please don't break...)

Pretending to be asleep.

What a Sweep Baby!

Actually, Sean's pushing a mop in this picture, but he enjoyed pushing both the broom and the mop while we were at Grandma's and Grandpa's house. We evacuated Houston for Hurricane Ike.
